I love to crochet. I really do. I started out crocheting in my quest to find myself a few years back. I took a one evening beginner class at a local craft store. I also did a knitting lesson, but that will be another subject another time. 😉
I did my first washcloths that evening and remember being so proud to finally be able to start, do and cast off. My grandmother had tried to teach me, but I forgot most of it. It felt oddly familiar holding the hook and yarn and I felt an instant connection with my family.
So I doodle a bit with it but didn’t do anything seriously with it… until I got my anxiety diagnosis.
Living with anxiety
I was diagnosed officially in 2016 after going to the ER for severe heartburn. Long story short, I got treated for the heartburn, drove back home, turned around before reaching my house and went back. I still didn’t feel good. An awesome nurse looked after me and was actually the one to ask me if it could be anxiety after ruling out heart problems.
So, that is when crocheting became more than just a hobby. It became a part of my healing process. It became a part of finding myself again, discovering a new hobby, falling in love with yarn and all it’s glory, part of a healthy addiction.
Patterns, oh patterns
For the life of me, I cannot write a pattern. I cannot wing it (unless it’s a dishcloth). But I have discovered so many great designers. There are so many available out there that I don’t think I want to learn that part anyway. Check out my Pinterest Boards (yes with an S!) for some inspiration.
One that I have recently discovered and fell in love with is Hooked Creations. I loved them so much that I want to share that love with you and have become an affiliate.
What does that mean for you?
It means that I will be sharing their patterns on my website and social media. You can, if you want, purchase their patterns using my links. It doesn’t cost you anything more to purchase an item and I will get a commission which helps me pay for my website. It’s a win-win-win type of situation for everyone.
Are you looking for something specific? Pattern or supplies? Let me know 🙂
Until next time,
Craftily yours, Karina
